How do you find players towns

Ok instead of spending hours looking on the game map.

Is there a website or something in-game that can tell me where all there towns are just by putting in there name?

Probably yes.
But using such a tool his highly against the rules and T&C. So if you download one, you'll be tracked as using an illegal script or tool and permanently banned.

That illegal tool is only capable of finding the towns of a server when someone makes an account and queries all the islands on the server. Since GOs can usually see that someone is giving like 8 queries a second, they get shut down. And then, all the data using this type (the only type) of town finding is usually outdated.

The legal way of finding a town- Message them, a reply will give them your coords. I'm sure I'm forgetting the rest.

Probably yes.

I'm not sure how they track people using a 3rd party database? The people who gather the data are certainly going to be banned, though. And if you get caught sharing a link (and in all likelyhood "finding" your enemies' towns with incredible luck), you'll get banned.

They don't track you using the 3rd party database (they can't unless they own the 3rd party database or have access to its log files) - they track the IP address of the page that refers you to Ikariam. So if you click on a link from any illegal website and it takes you to Ikariam then they know you have used an illegal site and can ban you.

However there is nothing stopping you making your own spreadsheet of locations - you can even store links to player's towns so you can click on them and go directly there from your own spreadsheet. Just do not publish it or share it with anyone or you'll break the T&C.

If they don't reply, you get no coords. You can have an ally send a spy to your own city to spy communications. Along with who you are chatting with, the report shows the island locations that they can then forward to you.
Perhaps its just the way the light falls, but everything looks like a target to me

Ah, I didn't think they would link the page. That just seems like a 'fairness' thing (honor among thieves?), or at least a design flaw, for people who think cheating is smart. I find that much hilarious.

Yeah, but it's the best way to find them. But that last thing is quite a clever thing, to say the least. So spies can see the coods of people you send messages to, even though you can't?
Still clever.
