What happens if your being occupied

I was wondering what happens to the occupied player. I mean sure we all now what happens if YOU occupy someone, but what happens to the poor guy who GETS occupied?

Down side-costs twice as much to make troops and ships

Up side-you get 10% of whatever the occupier pillages.

You don't get pillaged yourself, and you basically can keep playing the game. If you are a builder rather than a raider, being occupied could be the best thing that ever happened to you, since you get extra resources and the occupier defends your town-until he leaves and folks "counter-attack," the town the attacks came from (if they are not smart enough to realize you were occupied).

If I deploy some warships and army in a town I occupied, will the owner of the town be able to trade, send stuffs out or receive stuffs from other towns? thanks.

I was asking that same question a few days ago, and eventually answered it myself. The owner has full use of his port. The only way to effectively blockade his town is to, well, blockade it, and that's not possible if you occupy the town.

And messages? Do they go to the town's owner as well, or does the occupying player have access to them?

No. Only the owner can access messages sent to that town. Only thing you can do with occupation is park your army and warship in that town and attack from there.

I also heard owner cannot send soldiers to the occupied town from other towns and making army costs twice as normal. is that true?

I think just mad will occupy a town with much military force for long time , because except double upkeepers , he cann't get nothing . the only uncomfortable thing for The town's original owner is that he cann't move his troops and fleet in the occupied town aways . (but maybe he doesn't want to move them at all , they may thank those mad to protect their town& seperate 10% goods pillaged with them ) :devillol:
;) :)

the thing thats kinda funny about occupation is that its probably better for the person whos being occupied than the occupier. (at least if you're pretty small like below 10k) You get free resources (from the 10% rule) and free protection from the occupier's army. It wouldnt be good in the later stages of the game, but if you're new it could possibly benifit you.
